raise和rise的区别以及正确用法

Both “raise” and “rise” describe an upward movement.

Raise和rise都是描述一种向上的动态。

raise:

◆a regular verb:raise – raised – raised

规则变化动词:过去式raised/过去分词raised

◆a transitive verb, it needs an object.

及物动词,需加宾语。

◆Someone or somethingraisessomething to a higher position.

某人或某物将某物提升到一个更高的位置。

e.g.Iraisemy hand when I have a question.

当我有问题时,我会举手。

The government is launching a campaign toraiseawareness of internet security.

rise:

◆an irregular verb:rise – rose – risen

不规则变化动词:过去式rose/过去分词risen

◆an intransitive verb, it doesn’t have an object after it.

不及物动词,无需加宾语。

◆It refers to the action of going up or increasing by itself.

强调的是动作本身自行升高或增加。

e.g.Sea levelsriseevery year.

海平面每年都在上升。

The sunrisesevery morning.

太阳每天早上都会升起。

The cost of living rose by 5% last year.

去年,生活成本上升了5%。

How are “raise” and “rise” different?

Raise和rise,到底有什么区别呢?

我们再来细看两个例子。

◆Apple won its law suit against Samsung in the United States. As a result, Samsung mayraisethe prices of its Galaxy phones. (Companiesraiseprices. The prices are put up.)

苹果在美国对三星提起了法律诉讼,苹果胜诉了。结果是,三星可能会提高其Galaxy系列手机的价格。(这里的“价格”是由公司来提高的,价格是被提高。)

◆The price of gas hasrisenby 10 cents in the last month.

(Prices rise. They go up on their own.)

上个月,汽油价格上涨了10美分。(这里的价格是根据市场情况自行调整的。)

总结:

raise及物动词,主语通常是人或者机构,如抬头、举手、

举重、提高声音、价格或者觉悟等。

rise不及物动词,主语通常为日、月、云、雾、烟、热气、

河水、物价、起立、起床和起义等。
